Just to inform you at 8am this morning one of our servers was showing high load and high memory use.  We discovered one account sending spam and this was overloading the mail queue on this server.  All is fine again now.  There was no dowmtime but there was a sluggish performance for 4 hours while we worked to resolve the issue.

We are aware of the issue and are working to resolve the issue.  You can expect all services to be back to normal shortly.  If your site is loading then you are not affected as only one server is affected.  289 accounts are currently off line but will be back soon.

This is the first major outage we have had for 5 months and so far it’s been 40 minutes.  We expect services back within another 30 minutes

Just giving you all a brief update on updates to our website.  The new features went live yesterday and are summarised below:

• Wet Fish Domains.  Visit the ‘Plans’ page on our website and you can now register domain names as well as purchase hosting and reseller hosting.  Dedicated Server plans coming soon.
• Order hosting and domains and go live immediately.  Receive your welcome email within 5 minutes of payment being received (in 99% of cases - occasionally paypal checkout does not update our system and in this case we will update it manually)
• Upgrade and Downgrade Hosting plans easily and pay the difference on a pro rata basis or receive a pro rata refund.
• Cancel you account (we hope this is never used!)
• Change domain name DNS yourself without the need to contact us.
• Transfer domains names into Wet Fish Domains easily (assuming you are the owner, have unlocked the domain, have a valid email address listed in the domain and have the EPP code).
• Use our new support ticket system without creating a log in account - simply email our support email address and a ticket will be opened automatically
• Receive renewal emails well in advance of your acount expiration dates (assuming you keep your email address up to date)
• View your past invoices and download these in pdf format when needed.
• View all previous emails we have sent you including payment receipes and your welcome emails
• Log into your customer control panel and view all your accounts and expiry dates in one place.

Please note legacy accounts will gradually be migrated across to the new syste.  New customers and existing customers who buy another plan will use the new system immediately.

We are NOT going out of business.  One customer started posting on a web host talk forum that we were going out of business at the time last week when all servers had gone down.  The downtime was very unfortunate and we do sincerely apologise to all customers for that administrative error that caused the servers to go down.

This is clearly reflected in our September uptime rates but we anticipate the 98.7% average rising between now and the end of September to give us well over 99.5% uptime in September despite the issues.  For your information our server uptime reports may be found on:

We have just had a new phone line installed as a customer information line.  This is a local number based in Northern  Ireland in our offices. The old number was a virtual number redirecting from Central London to our office and this was disconnected recently.  The new phone number went live yesterday and is listed on the contact page of our website.  During any periods of outage we will inform customers of progress on this phone line.  Customers can also leave us a voicemail on this line also.
